Even under today's climatic conditions, the long-extinct European forest elephants could still be living in Europe. This is the result of a recent study. A research team from the Chair of Sports Ecology at the University of Bayreuth has combined fossil finds with reconstructions of the past climate. The findings allow conclusions to be drawn for today's nature conservation measures.

The new English taught bachelor's programme "Data, Science and AI" will launch in the upcoming winter semester. It is aimed primarily at students from around the world who not only have practical programming skills but also seek to develop a deeper understanding of the mathematical and conceptual foundations of data-driven methods.

International Conference of the Cluster of Excellence "Africa Multiple" in Bayreuth

The University of Bayreuth's Cluster of Excellence "Africa Multiple" is hosting its annual international conference from 14 to 16 May 2025. Bayreuth will be meeting point for scientists from all over the world. This year's topic, "Temporalities, Youth (Im)mobilities and Agencies: Africa on the Move," focuses on the perceptions of time and the dynamic nature of youth movements in Africa.
