The University of Bayreuth has made an impressive leap forward in the latest QS World University Rankings: Sustainability 2025, rising to rank 318 worldwide out of nearly 1,800 institutions. Within Germany, it now shares the 19th position with the University of Konstanz.

Researchers from the University of Bayreuth, in collaboration with international experts in German Studies, Dutch Studies, and Musicology, have demonstrated that songs on the threshold of the modern era served functions similar to today’s social networks on the internet. To achieve this, they investigated the social aspects of song culture in the German-speaking world of the 15th and 16th centuries.

Bayreuth sports economists have launched the first industry report, "Spöko Score," at the world's largest sports trade fair. The "Spöko Score" is the inaugural trend report for the sports industry from Bayreuth, highlighting the "Next Five": five scientifically based future topics defined by industry experts, validated by practitioners through surveys, and contextualized by researchers.
