We are proud of our friendly campus. It is the heart of the University and a source of inspiration. Most facilities and buildings are located there, and are just a few minutes' walk away. But where exactly? Check the current maps showing the individual buildings on campus here.

Finding Rooms on Campus

If you are looking for a particular room, you can use the University of Bayreuth room finder.
CAMPUSonline also contains information on when courses are held in each room. ​Here you will find detailed information such as the size of the rooms and the number of seats available.

Maps and Directions – University of Bayreuth Campus

The campus of the University of Bayreuth is located on the south end of town, just 900 metres from the interchange to motorway “A9” (exit 'Bayreuth-Süd'). Signs labelled “UNIVERSITÄT” will direct you to the campus when driving from the motorway or from downtown. Not far from the campus you will find the 'Prieserstraße' office buildings (Prieserstr. 2) and the Zapf Building (House 1 and House 4, Nürnberger Str. 38) along with the University’s Alexander von Humboldt House (Eichendorffring 5). The environmental protection information centre 'Lindenhof' (Karolinenreutherstr. 58) is also located in the vicinity.

The faculty in Kulmbach

The seventh faculty of the University of Bayreuth is located in Kulmbach. For the time being, it is located at Fritz-Hornschuch-Straße 13 (next to the Fritz shopping centre) and is thus right in the centre of town. The railway station is about 150 metres away.

Arriving by bus

There are three bus stops on campus: 'Mensa', 'Geowissenschaften', and 'Uni-Verwaltung'.

Bus 316 travels between the train station and the university campus. From Bayreuth’s central bus station (ZOH), you can take the 304, 306, or 326 to the campus. Further information is available on the homepage of VGN.

​The University of Bayreuth’s buildings at Geschwister-Scholl-Platz (GSP)

Geschwister-Scholl-Platz is located in the north of Bayreuth. You can reach it from campus or the ZOH by taking bus 306. From ZOH you can also take bus 325 ('Geschwister-Scholl-Platz', 'Andechsstr.' or 'Meranierring') or the 303 or 307 ('Richthofenhöhe' or 'Preuschwitzer Str.'). The building at Geschwister-Scholl-Platz (GSP) is located in the neighbourhood known as „Kreuz“.

Family-friendly infrastructure on campus

As a family-friendly university, we make a point of creating an ideal environment for achieving a balance between work, studies, and family. Examples of our family-friendly infrastructure on campus are the nursing and changing rooms located on campus and the childcare facilities in the neighbourhood.
