In the following, we inform you under Art. 13 General Data Protection Ordinance (DSGVO) on the collection of personal data in the context of the application process for recruitment at the University of Bayreuth. Responsible for the data collection is the University of Bayreuth.

E-Mail: datenschutz@uni-bayreuth.de - The purpose of the data collection is to be able
to perform a legitimate examination of your application in the context of the
exercise procedure. For this we store all data provided by you in the context
of your application. Based on the data submitted in the application, we will
check whether you can be invited to the interview as part of the selection
process. Then, in the case of generally suitable applicants, we collect certain
other personal data which are essential for the selection decision. If you are
eligible for recruitment, you will be informed separately about the personal
data to be collected during the recruitment process. The legal bases for data
collection and processing are Article 6 (1) (1) (b) GDPR, Article 9 (2) (b) and
(h) DSGVO, Article 88 (1) GDPR, and Article 8 (1) (1) No. 2 and 3 BayDSG.
- As far as your personal data is processed and
stored electronically, the technical operation of our data processing systems
is carried out by the state data centers and the State Office of Finance as a
processor.
- We will temporarily store your personal data
obtained during the application process. In the case of unsuccessful
application or withdrawal of these, we will destroy the data submitted by you
within the framework of the application no later than 3 months after
notification of the cancellation. The retention within these deadlines is
required for legal reasons in the event of any legal action (in particular, any
assertion of claims under the General Equal Treatment Act). If a hiring takes
place, you will be informed separately about the then valid regulations for the
handling of your personal data, in particular with regard to the creation of
personal files, see also under no. 3.
- Furthermore, we would like to inform you about your rights under the GDPR:
- If your personal data are processed, you have the right to obtain information about the data stored about you (Art. 15 GDPR).
- If incorrect personal data are processed, you are entitled to a correction (Art. 16 GDPR).
- If the legal prerequisites exist, you may request the deletion or limitation of the processing as well as objection to the processing (Articles 17, 18 and 21 (1) GDPR)

If you make use of your rights mentioned above, the University of Bayreuth will check whether the legal requirements for this have been met. If the cancellation of the application data is requested during the application process, this will be considered as withdrawal of the application.
