Digital Campus Award for the University of Bayreuth

Students give the University of Bayreuth top marks for the level of digitalization on campus. A total of 12,715 students at 239 universities and colleges in Germany voted and ranked the University of Bayreuth first among the universities.

UniNow GmbH, a provider of campus apps, presented the Digital Campus Awards for the first time. The basis for this award is an extensive survey of students at German universities and colleges. UniNow's Digital Campus Index provides an overview of student satisfaction with digitalization at their university. It assesses the digital quality of lectures, equipment, administration and other areas at the university.

The ranking is based on a star rating for the survey on the UniNow campus apps. These are mobile apps that students can use to easily access information about their university, from the canteen menu and their own timetable to the overview of grades and library opening times. 12,715 students used the app's survey function to rate digitalization at their university or college. The University of Bayreuth came in first place among the universities, and in the overall ranking with the universities of applied sciences it came in a very good 8th place.

"This award is an incentive for us to make the digitalization of the University of Bayreuth even more visible. We were the first university in Germany to make its sports courses bookable via an app. We are making rapid progress on our digitalization journey in research and administration, so I am all the more pleased that there are also visible successes for our students," says Prof. Dr. Torsten Eymann, CIO of the University of Bayreuth.
